Logan, Olivia & Josh, I was saddened to learn of the loss of your Mom in July, 2025. Wendy and I spoke from time to time over the years. We had common friends in Sweden from the 1980 exchange with schools in Gavle. We finally got to meet up in June, 2024 in Kanata with my son James prior to a RedBlacks Football game. I understood that Wendy was going through a tough time having recently lost her fiance. I'll miss our chats that always seemed to be run on conversations despite gaps of upwards of 24 months between them. Suzanne Rohsto and Mats Engstrom in Sweden are also deeply saddened. Logan and Olivia, I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. I know how much you both meant to her. In 1998, Wendy was my CISV leader and took me,and three other 11 year-olds, to Denmark. She was warm and loving, fun and brilliant. Wendy had the kindest heart and a way of making everyone feel safe and seen in her presence. Over the years, we would connect at community events. Wendy always radiated warmth and pride when she spoke of you both and I know how much joy you, her children, brought to her life. I can appreciate the depth of your loss and hope you both can find comfort in the love she shared and cherished memories of your mother. My deepest condolences.

Though Wendy’s life was far too short, she experienced so much: she travelled the world, raised wonderful children and stepchildren, and touched the hearts of countless people. I count myself lucky to have shared a strong and lasting friendship with her for 47 years. Wendy was one of the kindest people I have known and she leaves a big whole in a lot of lives. We met thru our kids nursery school and stayed friends for 22 years. She was always a joy to be around. I will miss her dearly. My heart goes out to all her family and friends.
