Around 10–12 years ago, on a snowy night after a fun curling game at the Nepean Sportsplex with Bill Bourk’s team, Jeff and I witnessed a hit-and-run near Algonquin College. Jeff immediately stayed with the young fellow who was injured and called 911, while I chased down and stopped the driver who caused the accident until the police arrived.
Thanks to Jeff’s calm presence and quick action, the young man received help right away. Thankfully, his injuries turned out to be minor. After giving our statements to the police, Jeff and I went home, grateful for how things turned out.
That night showed the kind of person Jeff was—caring, steady, and always ready to help others in need.
