With deepest sadness, we announce the passing of our dear Irene. Heaven has been watching over their angel for 60 years and now, peacefully in her sleep, they call her home. Irene will be greatly missed by her father Harold, mother Marion, stepfather Andy, and her sisters Marie, Dorene (David) and Charlena (Michael). She will lovingly be remembered by many aunts, uncles and many many cousins. Irene was a shining beacon of joy to all who met her. She was the cornerstone of our family. She taught us to love each other, truly and unconditionally. She scolded us for swearing on numerous occasions. She reminded us Cookie Monster was a great actor and Elvis was the best singer. She touched every life in her world and made it all the better. She was an inspiration, a fighter, a gentle soul and had a kindness in her heart we can only hope to achieve one day. The girl who couldn’t walk, walks with God. The girl who couldn’t see, is watching over us. The girl who stole all our hearts, has now taken them with her to keep them safe until we meet again. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the whole team at The Grove Nursing home as well as Dr. Vilis and Dr. Becker. A celebration of Irene’s life is planned for a date to be determined in Hamilton. Donations in Irenes memory to the CNIB are welcomed in lieu of flowers.
