MarySue McCarthy
On Wednesday March 4th 2026, MarySue McCarthy died peacefully at the age of 93 after receiving superb care from the nurses and staff at Groves Park Lodge in Renfrew .
She was predeceased by her husband Daniel McCarthy in 2013 and leaves behind 7 children including, Josie Morrison (Dr. David Morrison), Paula McCarthy, Dr. Susanna McCarthy, Dan McCarthy (Sylvie Boucher), David McCarthy, Dr. Marta McCarthy (Randy Smith), and Matt McCarthy (Erika Berenz).
MarySue’s grandchildren were the source of great pride. They are Alastair Morrison (Jacklin Weatherill), Daniel Morrison (Gabriella Goutam), Mary Morrison (James Ewing), Olivia McCarthy (Daniel Charron), Kate Ladas (Tyler Ladas) and Julia McCarthy.
MarySue’s great grandchildren were the joy of her life. They are Zoey Ladas, Charlotte Morrison and Seamus Morrison.
MarySue was a founding Professor in the Faculty of Education at York University and devoted over 25 years of her career to the success and well being of her students and the University.
Throughout her life, she was active in the Catholic Church and was a devoted member of St. John Chrysostom Parish in Arnprior, after moving there in retirement.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass to be celebrated in St. John Chrysostom Church in Arnprior on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at 1 p.m.
