Stephen Calnan

26 April, 1968 - 6 March, 2026

With great sadness, the family announces that Steve passed suddenly and peacefully at home in Arnprior on Friday, March 6, 2026. He was 57 years of age. Proud father of Jamie Sexsmith Calnan. Dear brother of Michael Calnan and Tim Calnan (Lynn Neville). Also missed by his former wife, Samantha Sexsmith. Youngest son of the late Lawrence and Norma (nee Stephens) Calnan.

Stephen was known for his kindness, his sincerity, his generosity, and for finding the humour in almost every situation – always with a teasing grin and a quick, sarcastic comment at the ready.

Steve loved anything outdoors and was truly knowledgeable about nature. His keen observation and perspective, in conjunction with his brush, could recreate the most beautiful landscape imagery and lent itself well to his talent for photography.

He will be missed by all who were lucky enough to know him.

Family and friends are invited to an informal gathering to take place at Jim’s Restaurant (Arnprior) on Saturday March 21 from 2pm to 4 p.m.

There is so much more to be said about Steve, so please bring your best stories – we want to celebrate him!

Steve’s final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Pilon Family Funeral Home in Arnprior.

In Steve’s memory, a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by his family.
