Obituary of Winnifred (Winnie) Murdoch

(nee Belsher)

October 7, 1924 – February 15, 2025

 

After a life well-lived for 100 years, the family of Winnifred "Winnie" Murdoch announces that

she passed from this life into the presence of her heavenly Father on Saturday morning, February 15, 2025 with her daughter and son-in-law holding her hands.

 

Cherished wife of the late Earl Murdoch (2008). Winnie was the beloved Mom of Gary Murdoch of Limoges and Janice Hyland (Ron) of Arnprior.

Doting Nanny of Jason Hyland (Madi Nadeau) and Great-Nanny of Zoey and Melodie.

Winnie was predeceased by her parents: Herman and Bernice Belsher; her daughter, Linda (1967);

her sisters: Margaret Dodds (2017) (late Ernie) and Darlene Belsher (1942) as well as her niece, Sharon Mielke (Mel).

Also gone before her were Earl’s brothers: Henry Murdoch and Don Murdoch.

Winnie will be fondly remembered by her nieces: Marylea Tourangeau, Shawna Marshall, Rhonda Wright, Margaret Tripp, Cheryl Mielke, Lee-Anne Grierson, Carolyn Fraser

and her nephew, Bruce Murdoch and their families.

She will also be missed by her friend, Donna Meek and her sons Devon and Derek Mallory.

 

Until a recent fall, Winnifred lived in the same house on Elgin Street that Earl built when they married in 1945.

She was a homemaker, a woman of prayer and a member of Glad Tidings Church in Arnprior for over 90 years.

 

Final care and arrangements have been entrusted to the

Pilon Family Funeral Home and Chapel Ltd., Arnprior

where friends may pay their respects on Thursday evening, February 20th from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Friday morning, February 21st from 9:45 to 10:45.

 

A Funeral Service will be held in the Pilon Family Chapel at 11 o’clock followed immediately by a reception.
