Obituary of Diane Kiser

March 17, 1951 – March 22, 2025

Diane Ruth Kiser passed away peacefully on March 22, 2025, at Hospice Renfrew, with her beloved husband and sons by her side She was 74 years of age.

Born on St. Patrick’s Day in 1951 in Beamsville, Ontario, Diane carried the spirit of that day with her throughout her life — vibrant, generous, and full of heart. The daughter of Dr. Andy and Ruth Russell (both predeceased), Diane was the third of five daughters and the cherished middle child in the Russell family. She will be lovingly remembered by her sisters Barb Raven (Chris), Mary Hickling (David), Joanie Russell (Henry van Gelder), and Margie van Gelder (Richard).

Diane devoted her career to education, specializing in special education, where she brought warmth, imagination, and deep compassion into the classroom and into every life she touched. Her true joy, though, was found at home — as a devoted wife of 49 years to John Kiser, and a nurturing, spirited mother to their three sons: Jason, Bradley, and Scott.

Diane was a free spirit, known for her creativity, curiosity, and bold originality. Whether she was tending to her gardens, preparing a meal, or simply spending time with those she loved, she brought beauty and heart to everything she did. She especially cherished time at the family cottage in the Kawarthas, where laughter, love, and lasting memories were made.

Diane’s legacy is one of love — passionate, kind, and deeply present. She gave her all to her family, and her warmth will echo in the lives she shaped and the love she gave so freely.

Friends may visit with the family during visitation at the Pilon Family Funeral Home in Arnprior on Friday evening, March 28th from 6 to 9 p.m. and again on Saturday morning, March 29th from 10:15 to 11:15. A Service to honour and remember Diane will take place in the Pilon Family Chapel at 11:30. A reception will follow.

The service will be webcast live for those unable to attend. (Click Here)

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice Renfrew in gratitude for their exceptional care or to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation.

She will be deeply missed and remembered always.
