Obituary of Mitchell Thompson

It is with heavy hearts that we share that Mitchell 'Mitch' Burke Thompson passed on April 19th, 2025 at the age of 66 after a 19-year battle with prostate cancer.

Beloved husband and partner of over 39 years to Janet (nee Succee) whose unwavering love and devotion will never fade, leaving an everlasting imprint on our hearts and of all who knew him.

A very proud and devoted father to his two daughters, Krista-Lee (Curtis Lacroix) and Lindsay (Marty Roberge), teaching them to chase their dreams and love fearlessly.

Cherished and loving grandpa to Bexlee, Peyton and Makayla. Father figure to many more.

Mitch is predeceased by his parents, Barclay and Beverly (nee Cuthbert).

He leaves behind his sister, Kim Hamilton and her son, Dorion and family.

Mitch will be fondly remembered by his sisters-in-law Dianne Kellar (Dave Dulmage), Marian Johnston (Barry Elmhirst) and Cecile Collins (the late Gilbert) along with so very many nieces and nephews.

When he was well, this man never stopped. A helping friend always, an honorable man, and someone who showed what a fight for life looks like. His wisdom echoes in our hearts, and his love will forever be the guiding light for our family. He will always be fondly remembered, cherished and idolized by the ones he fought for.

Special thanks and utmost appreciation to the Renfrew County Community Paramedics as well as the nursing staff and physicians at the Arnprior Emergency department and inpatient unit along with Cindy who touched our lives on a weekly basis. Your support goes beyond what anyone could ever imagine. THANK YOU!!! Your understanding and compassion brought us much relief.
