With heavy hearts yet grateful for the long and happy life that Gladys lived, the Barr family announces that she passed peacefully
at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital while surrounded by the love of her family early Saturday morning, May 3, 2025.
She was 100 years of age.

as well as her great-grandchildren: Louis, Charlie, Penelope, Avery, Hudson, Preston, Leah, Lucas, Isabel and Sophie.
The last surviving child of the late Ebert and Myrtle Baird of Kinburn, Gladys was also predeceased by her 2 brothers: Ivan Baird (late Grace), Stuart Baird (Barbara)
as well as her sister, Joyce Sherman (late Elliott). Lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews, neighbors, new friends Connie and Gloria at Island View as well as many other great friends from Kinburn, Arnprior and beyond.
Gladys lived a life of hard work but always took great pride in running the farm alongside her husband, Miller.
She took part in all aspects of farming but always managed to keep an impeccable house and manage the chores there as well.
Her transition to Island View Suites in Arnprior 3 years was not easy for Gladys but she managed it with the very same grace
and determination that lead her through life.
She leaves a legacy of love, kindness and so many wonderful memories for those who knew and loved her. She will be missed.
The family wish to express heartfelt gratitude to PSW’s Shannon and Lee who provide their Mom with that added care that made such a difference
in her everyday life these past few months. Also, special mention to the Doctors, nurse, PSW’s and staff of the Arnprior Hospital
who provided Gladys with excellent care as well.
Final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the
Pilon Family Funeral Home, Arnprior.
A Service to honour and remember Gladys will take place in the Pilon Chapel later in the Summer.
The day, date and time will be posted here closer to the time.
