Obituary of Carol Clouthier
(Retired – Renfrew Victoria Hospital)
With heavy hearts, the family announces that Carol passed away in the comfort of her home with a view of the Mississippi River, with loved ones by her side, on Monday morning, May 12, 2025. She was 76 years of age.
Beloved wife of Bob Clouthier for 33 years, and predeceased by her first husband, Glen Grace. Dearly loved mother of Jamie Grace (Candace) and Sherry Grace (Todd Warren), and stepmother of Bobby J. Clouthier (Cathy), J.P. Clouthier, and the late Marc Clouthier.
A vibrant and devoted grandmother to Michael Grace, Natasha Detweiler (Scott), Chris Grace (Mercedes), Grace Wilson, Angela Clouthier (Katie Kline), Derek Clouthier (Jamie Croft), Danny Clouthier, Courtney Clouthier, Adam Redpath, and Shawn Christopherson, and great-grandmother of 15. Carol made every visit special—filling days with swimming, baking, card games, and the kind of encouragement that sparked curiosity and confidence in each of them.
Dear sister of Charles Graham (Shirley) and Sandra Judd (George). Predeceased by her parents, Martin and Mabel (née Johnston) Graham, and her brother, John Graham.
Carol grew up in the Kawarthas, playing piano and visiting cousins. She lovingly raised her children in Kitchener-Waterloo while building a meaningful career as a social worker with Family & Children’s Services, and actively participating in the Knox Church community.
She and Bob built a rich life together on the Mississippi River, where they welcomed family and friends for fun, delicious barbeques, and pontoon boat rides. Carol was a spirited participant in curling, golf, card groups, and book club. She and Bob travelled together every year, wintering in Mexico. Carol nurtured many, many strong, enduring friendships along the way.
Carol faced her illness with quiet strength and unwavering determination, embracing each day with intention. She has left a lasting legacy of love, generosity, and grace. She will be deeply missed.
The family is grateful to her oncologist Dr. Vickers and staff, as well as the staff at the chemotherapy department of the Renfrew Hospital, where she also had worked.
Carol’s final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the
