Obituary of Wayne Carroll
With profound sadness, the Carroll family announces that Wayne passed away peacefully at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital on
Friday morning, June 6, 2025. Wayne James Carroll of Arnprior was 75 years of age.
Beloved husband, business partner and best friend of Christine (nee Melanson). Dearly loved Dad of Tom (Trina), Felicia Hunt and Angela Schruder (Ian).
Cherished and forever loved by his grandchildren: Kate and Alex Carroll, Michael Collins, Kiara, Carley and Tyler Hunt, Blake and Olive Schruder.
Survived by his brother Robert “Bob” Carroll. Son of the late Thomas Howard and Olive (Mercer) Carroll.
Wayne was the manager of The Met Department Store in the Arnprior Mall from the time it opened until its closing in early 1997. Later that year, Wayne and Christine opened Sox Plus in the Mall.
They remained in business until March of 2024 when they finally answered the call to retirement.
Wayne will be remembered for his selfless volunteerism in our community.
He gave so much of his time, talents and resources to helping make Arnprior a better place to live.
Wayne was a life member of the Arnprior Lions Club where he participated in many community events.
He leaves a legacy of kindness with those who had the privilege to call him friend.
He will be missed.
The family wish to express heartfelt gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff at the Arnprior Hospital for the care and compassion shown to Wayne.
Wayne’s final care has been entrusted to the
Pilon Family Funeral Home in Arnprior
where visitation will be held on Friday evening, June 13th from 5:30 to 6:45
and where a Tribute to Wayne will take place in the Pilon Family Chapel on Friday evening at 7 o’clock.
A reception will follow at the Masonic Hall, 61 James Street, Arnprior.
