Obituary of Marlyn Gatien
(nee Dazé)
With heavy hearts, the family announces that following several years of living through Alzheimer’s,
Marlyn passed away peacefully at Almonte Country Haven in the early morning hours of Wednesday, June 11, 2025.
Marlyn Jean Gatien of Arnprior was in her 91st year.
Beloved wife of the late Raymond “Ray” Gatien.
Dearly loved mother of Genevieve “Genny”, Tony, the late Larry, Stephen (Suzanne), Katie Devost (Mike) and Chris (Corrie).
Cherished Gram of Samantha Macuzzi, Sonya Gatien, Seth (Janet) Gatien, Simone (Samuel Marquis), Stacy Gatien,
Mitchell English (Tiffany), Ryan English (Katie Parrot), Ryan Devost (Vanessa) and Cody Devost and Great-Gram of 12.
Dear sister of Peter Dazé (Debbie), Susan Miller (Ellard) and Jane Vallentyne.
Predeceased by one sister, Ann Brisson (late Bob) as well as 3 brothers: Bob (Mary), C.J. “Bud” (Bette) and Bill (Linda).
Also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Daughter of the late Tony and Isabel (nee Gilmour) Dazé.
Marlyn will be remembered for her many years as an RNA while working first in Sudbury then closer to home at The Grove Nursing Home here in Arnprior.
Joyful, happy and always wearing a smile, Marlyn leaves many happy memories in the hearts of those who knew her.
Final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the
Pilon Family Funeral Home in Arnprior
where visitation will take place on Monday evening, June 16th from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Tuesday morning, June 17th from 9:45 to 10:45.
A Service to honor and remember Marlyn will follow in the Pilon Family Chapel on Tuesday morning at 11 o’clock.
