Obituary of Margaret Bigras

(nee Schubrink)

March 5, 1932-June 13, 2025

Dedicated long-time employee of Kenwood Mills, Arnprior until 1978 when she left to be a full-time caregiver to her grandchildren

With sadness, yet grateful for a beautiful well-lived life, the family announces that Margaret passed away peacefully

at Fairview Manor in Almonte on Friday evening, June 13, 2025. 

She was 93 years of age. 

Beloved wife of the late Nin (Ernest) Bigras. 

Dearly loved mother of Carolyn Donoghue (late Garry), Greg Bigras (Valerie) and Kevin Bigras (Josée). 

Predeceased by her son, Bruce (Shelley).

Cherished and proud Gramma of Jen, Carrie, Becky, Andrew, Shawna and Jessica

and Great-Gramma of Owen, Jordan, Cael, Rylan, Ethan, Paisley, Nathan, Hailey, Benjamin and Logan.

Dear sister of the late Earla McIntyre (Arnold) and the late Cedric Schubrink (Myrna). 

Also survived and fondly remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Mom loved her home of 60 years on Daniel Street in Arnprior, cutting her lawn and maintaining her flower gardens well into her 80s. 

She was a proud volunteer at the Opportunity Shop for over 15 years.

But her greatest joy was her 6 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. 

Many wonderful memories were made at Gramma’s from baking lessons, building blanket and snow forts,

lunches on the back verandah and delicious family Christmas dinners.  Gramma will be greatly missed

We would like to express our sincere gratitude and appreciation to the staff of the Almonte Fairview Manor

for their kindness and compassion shown to our mom and grandmother during her final days.

Margaret’s final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the

Pilon Family Funeral Home in Arnprior

where visitation will take place on Friday morning, June 20^th from 9:30 to 10:45. 

A Service to honour and remember Margaret will be held in the Pilon Family Chapel at 11 a.m.

Interment Malloch Road Cemetery, Arnprior followed by a reception at Pilon's.
