Obituary of Raymond L'Abbé

L’ABBÉ, Raymond Delmore

(Retired Carpenter)

March 3, 1937 – July 4, 2025

With great sadness, the family regrets to inform you that Raymond passed away rather unexpectedly but peacefully

at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute early Friday morning, July 4, 2025; Raymond  L’Abbé of Arnprior was 88 years of age.

Beloved husband of Gracie (nee Gourley).

Dearly loved Dad, best friend and mentor of Mark (and his wife Christine) and Grampy of Ciara.

Dear brother of Lloyd (Linda) and Ellen Hill (late George).

Predeceased by 2 brothers: Eddie (late Cécile) and Douglas and 3 sisters: Darlleen Trudeau (late Jack), Lois McKeddie (late Don) and Phyllis Hall (late Bill).

Special brother-in-law of Walter Gourley (late Loretta) and Diane Thompson (Ted White).

Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Son of the late Raymond and Mona (nee Hogan) L’Abbé.

Raymond always put his family first.

He was an accomplished, lifelong carpenter.

His work ethic was impeccable and the craftsmanship and creativity he shared was second to none.

Quiet, thoughtful and wise are but a few of the words that could best describe Raymond.

Measure twice…cut once.

A loving husband; proud Dad, doting grandfather, caring and thoughtful brother, brother-in-law and uncle. He will be missed.

Raymond’s final care has been entrusted to the

Pilon Family Funeral Home in Arnprior

where visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, July 8^th from 6 to 8 p.m.

and again on Wednesday morning, July 9^th from 9:30 to 10:45.

A Service in Memory of Raymond will take place in the Pilon Family Chapel on Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock.

Interment Malloch Road Cemetery.

A reception will follow at Pilon’s.
