Obituary of Leo Jodouin
With heavy and broken hearts, the family of Leo Henry Jodouin announces his sudden passing on the evening of Friday, July 4, 2025.
Leo was a man who lived life with quiet strength, an open heart, and a deep love for the simple things—family, fresh air, and the hum of an engine.
He will be deeply missed by his daughters, Chantal Jodouin (Scott Howard) and Ashley Jodouin (Taylor Benda). Also remembered by the mother of his children Liette Jodouin (Belanger). Leo’s daughters were not only his pride and joy but also his greatest accomplishments. His love for his daughters was unwavering, and he cherished every moment spent with them and their growing families.
Leo was the cherished brother of Corinne Dionne (Mike) and Pauline Schmuland (Randy), and a beloved uncle to Pamela, Phil, and Michael.
He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Mildred “Ruby” (Olmstead) Jodouin, who no doubt welcomed him home with open arms.
Leo was devoted to his partner Julia Stewart, and with her came an extended family he held close to his heart. He held great respect and affection for Julia’s parents, Anthony and Grace Cauley, who embraced him into their family with warmth and kindness. He will be fondly remembered by Julia’s daughters, Jennifer Stewart and Jamie Stewart, and will forever be “Pappy” to Florence, Felix, Jaylin, and Jayde—a role he embraced with tenderness, laughter, and endless hugs. Leo also formed a special bond with Julia’s siblings, Rosemary, Denise, Michael, and Sharon, and was truly grateful to be part of their lives.
Born in Sturgeon Falls, Leo always had a deep appreciation for small-town life. After discovering Arnprior, he found his true home—close enough to the city yet nestled beside the river and not far from the cottage at the Rideau, where he spent countless happy days fishing, boating, and simply soaking in the outdoors. When casting a line Leo found peace in nature and passed that love on to those around him. A passionate car enthusiast, Leo could often be found with his head under the hood of a vehicle or cheering on a NASCAR race. He found joy in the hum of engines and the thrill of the track, passions he loved to share with those around him.
More than anything, Leo loved his family. His daughters, grandchildren, and those he held dear always knew they could count on his steady presence, warm smile, and quiet support. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories that will live on in all who knew him.
He will be truly missed and forever remembered.
