There could not be enough flowers to celebrate, commemorate or memorialize justly this beautiful life of hers. They would disappoint without hearing her anecdotes, her stories that would be followed by a wink and cackles knowing she litterally led you down the garden's path. She loved to tease and prank. The cheshire catlike laugh and grin is etched in my memory.
Gardening, like death, shares powerful rhytms of cycles of life, growth, and loss. Brenda taught me that tending to something that is alive, that has the potential to bloom and bring joy, beauty and even heightens your senses. The joy comes from experiencing its growth, its challenges in hopes that it flourishes. But eventually the seasons change and you experience its decline. She help me recognize the hope for new growth from what has passed. I hope she brought you the same wisdom and more. I'm so glad i got to know her. Truly a special person. P.S. she said she'd sue me if i published this picture she had in her room (but is is so beautiful)
