Obituary of Marylou Bowden

With great sadness, the family announces that Marylou passed away rather unexpectedly at the Almonte General Hospital with loved ones by her side on Monday afternoon, July 28, 2025. Marylou Bowden of Pakenham was 71 years of age. Beloved wife, best friend and life partner of Dale Dolan. Loved StepMom of Cindy Marshall (Terry); Grandma of Cassidy Marshall (Steve McLean) and Jesse Marshall (Hillary) and Great-Grandma of Dalton and Tommy. Dear sister of Bobby Bowden (Carol), Iona Rowe (late Bernie), Eddie Bowden (Diane), Brenda Logan (Bob), Garry Bowden (Shelley) and Carl Bowden (Tracy). Predeceased by siblings: Lorna Rivington (late Percy), Donna McCooeye, Ronnie Bowden (late Alice), Gwen Robertson (Don) and Marilyn Bowden. Daughter of the late Robert “Bob" and Elsie (nee Davis) Bowden. Lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and wonderful friends and neighbors.

Marylou was born in Arnprior. She was one of many children born into the Bowden family. She would eventually go on to become a civil servant within the Government of Canada. At the age of 20, she met Dale Dolan and a more than 50 year relationship was forged and lived to the fullest. They moved around during this time however, their recent and final move to Pakenham brought them both great joy and happiness as there they discovered the company of a very tight knit community. She will be forever remembered for her kind and genuine spirit.

Final arrangements for Marylou have been entrusted to the care of the Pilon Family Funeral Home in Arnprior. Visitation will take place on Friday morning, August 8^th from 9:30 to 10:45. A Service in memory of Marylou will then be held in the Pilon Family Chapel at 11 o’clock. A reception will follow at the Mountain Creek Golf Club, 311 Mountain View Road, Arnprior. Everyone is welcome to attend.
