Obituary of John Camp

 

 

 

It is with great sadness that the family announces the unexpected, but peaceful passing of John Camp on Tuesday morning, July 29, 2025. He was 87.

 

John was born in Grand Bank, Newfoundland and grew up in North Sydney, Nova Scotia. He is survived by the love of his life, his wife of over 65 years, Anne Marie (nee Carey). He also leaves behind his sons Shawn (Kara Blanchette) and Sheldon (Patty Lebans) and grandchildren Jaxon, Keegan, Logan and Jordan.

Predeceased by parents Clayton and Ella (nee Osbourne) Camp, and brothers Kenneth (late Anne) and George (late Mary).

 

John retired in 1995 as Director of Communications with the Federal Department of Fisheries and Oceans and enjoyed boating and windsurfing on the Ottawa River and Winters in New Smyrna Beach, Florida.

 

Survived by sisters Effie, Lila (David), Sharon, Elaine (Wayne) and brothers Larry (late Dixie) and Lloyd (Mary) as well as many nieces and nephews.

 

John’s private arrangements have been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home.
