Obituary of Marlene Jackson

(Retired PSW)

With heavy hearts, the family announces that Marlene passed away quietly and peacefully at home in the morning hours of Wednesday, August 6, 2025

following a lengthy journey with Muscular Dystrophy.

Marlene Mary Jackson of Arnprior was only 68 years of age.

Beloved wife of Dixon. Much loved mother of Angela Tyrrell and Matthew Tyrrell.

Cherished and forever Nan of Beatreux.

Dear sister of Sharon McCallum (Rick) and the late Norman Thomas.

Special Aunt Marlene of Sterling and Nicole Thompson.

Also survived by her former husband, David Tyrrell (Deb).

Daughter of the late John and Yvette (nee Bégin) Thomas.

Marlene was a longtime resident of Arnprior.

She spent many years as a cook at Jim’s Restaurant before studying and later becoming a PSW.

She spent several years at Starwood Extendicare in Nepean before moving on to Groves Park Lodge in Renfrew.

Her final role was as a Palliative Care PSW working with patients in their homes in their final stages of life.

She embraced this with great empathy and compassion.

Sadly, her own illness eventually prevented her from being able to work outside of home however she never lost her zest for life and her love of people.
She leaves a legacy of love and kindness.

Marlene’s final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the

Pilon Family Funeral Home in Arnprior

where visitation will be held on Tuesday morning, August 12th from 9:30 to 10:45.

A Service to honour and remember Marlene will then take place in the Pilon Family Chapel at 11 o’clock

followed by a reception at Pilon’s.

The Service will be webcast live for those unable to attend.  Click Here
