Obituary of Michel Roy

It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Michel Roy, at the age of 94, on Thursday, September 11, 2025, at the Foxview Retirement Community, in Ottawa.

Michel was a man of remarkable character and a true "jack of all trades." Growing up on a farm, he developed a powerful work ethic and a deep appreciation for hard work. This strong foundation shaped his life and his incredible ability to fix or build anything. He was known for his inventive spirit, always tinkering and creating, and he took great pride in using his skills to help others.

Above all, Michel was a devoted and loving husband to his beloved late wife, Marguerite (nee Marques of Boston, Massachusetts). Their love story was a testament to his dedication; he cared for her with unwavering strength and kindness in sickness and in health. Their bond was a beautiful example of commitment.

A treasured father, Michel will be deeply missed by his children: Colleen Wilson (Bill) of Leesburg, Florida; Michelle Roy (Guy Jutras) of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; Robert “Bob” Roy (Aågot) of Horsens, Denmark; Gayle Conners (Stephen Ryan) of Pointe Claire, Quebec; Tracey Conners (John Magill) of White Lake, Ontario; Ken Roy (Gina) of Nepean, Ontario; and Juliette Carriere (Marc) of Nepean, Ontario.

He was a proud and loving grandfather to 18 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Michel was predeceased by his parents, Joseph-Arthur and Juliette (nee Breton) Roy, and all of his siblings and their spouses: Robert (Germaine), Marguerite (Louis-Albert Breton), Camille (Jeanne), Lucien (Simone), Moise (Margo), Catherine (Jean-Yves Corriveau), and Aline.

Michel's care and arrangements have been entrusted to the

Pilon Family Funeral Home, Arnprior, Ontario.

A Graveside Funeral Service to honour Michel will take place on

October 10th, 2025, at 10:30 am at the Saint-Vallier cemetery,

located at 350 Rue de la Fabrique, Saint-Vallier-de-Bellechasse Quebec, G0R 4J0,

where he and Marguerite will be laid to rest in his hometown. Following the service, a reception welcoming family and friends will be held at the

Centre multifonctionnel de Saint-Vallier (originally the church) located at 367, avenue de l’Église, Saint-Vallier-de-Bellechasse.
