Isabel Ward Judd

August 11,1925 - September 28, 2025

Passed away at The Grove Long Term Care Facility in Arnprior on Sunday evening, September 28, 2025 a little over a month after celebrating her 100th birthday.
Isabel is survived by her daughters Judith, Betty Robertson (Doug) and JoAnne;

her five grandchildren: Judd Robertson (Anna Lorz), Daniel Robertson (Natalie), Katie Robertson (Rob Doyle), Rebecca Trueman (Andy Stewart) and Matt Trueman

as well as her 10 great-grandchildren: Andrew, Finn, Reid, Miles, Elsie, Max, Flora, Ella, Abby and Kai.

Predeceased by her husband, Dr Wilson Judd; her daughter Susan Judd; her parents Roy and Nora Wood; her sister Dorothy Wilson and her brothers W.C.E. “Buzz” Wood and Tom Wood.

Isabel graduated as a registered nurse from the Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal in 1947.

Following the death of her husband in 1956 she enrolled at the Ottawa Teachers College and graduated as an elementary teacher in 1960.

In 1974 she graduated with a BA in English from the University of Ottawa.

Isabel worked for the Renfrew County Board of Education as a teacher, consultant, and vice principal.

Isabel enjoyed sports throughout her life, including curling, golf and skiing.

She played bridge for many years and also took pleasure in crafts such as knitting, crocheting and ceramics.

Most of all, she loved to host her family on special occasions.

Isabel’s family is grateful to the staff at The Grove for their care and kindness.

 

Final arrangements entrusted to the care of the

Pilon Family Funeral Home in Arnprior.

A private family graveside service and interment will take place at the Albert Street Cemetery, Arnprior.

 

Donations in Isabel’s memory may be made to the Arnprior Public Library Homebound Service or The Grove Long Term Care Facility in Arnprior.
