Tanya, Kim, and Trevor,
My condolences on the loss of your father. For most of my youth your homes in Beacon Hill were like our 2nd home. I can remember many Christmas "Goose" dinners prepared by your dad (and mom) for all of us to enjoy. I remember him tobogganing with us behind your first home. I remember getting shuffled off to my aunt Ada's place when Mary and Heinz joined Dora and Case on exotic trips south. These memories will always be cherished.

To us small town kids, Heinz and Mary were like celebrities. The original power couple, very cool and fashionable. Heinz had a collection of pipes and was very knowledgeable about wine and liquor.
As Thea said, Heinz liked to drive fast. He said he had to drive 90 mph on the 401 to keep from falling asleep! I recall that the beach car was a Galaxy 500. I think it got stuck on the beach. He was also a really strong swimmer. He would have us wrap our arms around his neck and swim out into the lake for what seemed a mile. I am still in awe of this.
We went to Ottawa for Christmas in 1968 and Heinz had a new yellow Pontiac. I asked how much it cost, but my mom told me that was a rude question, and I never received an answer. After that, he drove Mercedes and Volkswagens.
Earlier this week, I was discussing his much-vaunted spaghetti sauce. It was too sophisticated for my young palate at the time; I am curious how it tastes now!
I will raise a glass of kirsch in his memory and hope he is dancing with Mary.

Trevor, Kim and Tanya, condolences and hugs to you all. My memories of your dad include really fast car rides, days at the beach where he drove the car right into the water to wash it, fun days at the cottage, watching him drink the salad dressing after dinner from a wine glass, and the smell of Aqua Velva. He can rest peacefully with your Mom now. Love, Thea

Kim,
Glen and I send our heartfelt condolences to you and your family. It was such a pleasure getting to meet you and your dad on the
Panama trip and then again for a couple of lunches and a trip to Golden Lake once we were back home. Each adventure was so full of laughter. From his love of dancing and pole dancing, to car rides, his memorable pink shirts, but most of all the chats about his life stories. Glen always said he could have chatted with Heinz for hours. Rest in peace Heinz and we will always carry a piece
of you in our heart❤️
Dianne & Glen

You will be dearly missed. I’m so glad we had the trips sailing and Moosenee. Favorite memory: playing euchre in the motel at 6pm when everything was closed, no food and it was raining. We still had fun!
