With heavy hearts, the Lavigne family announces that their matriarch passed away peacefully
at The Grove Long Term Care Facility in Arnprior with loved ones by her side in the early hours of Friday, October 3, 2025.
Violet Elizabeth Lavigne of Arnprior was 92 years of age.
Beloved wife of the late Roger Lavigne.
Dearly loved and devoted Mom of Helen Burgess (Murray), John “Russ” Lavigne (Joanne), Shirley Petruk, Diane Cybulski (Kevin), Clayton Lavigne (Sue),
Bea Blenkarn (Brian), Danny Lavigne (Sylvia), Paula Ferrier (Scott) and Laurie Beaudoin (Jean).
Predeceased by 2 sons: infant Joseph and Robert Lavigne as well as 2 daughters: Mary Stewart (late John) and Theresa Lavigne.
Cherished, proud and forever loved grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother, aunt, and friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
The last surviving daughter of the late Alex and Rose (nee Gauthier) Normandeau.
Vi was also predeceased by her stepmother, Alice as well as 7 brothers: Guy (late Pearl), Peter (late Florence), George Lamendeau (late Lillian),
Hilaire (late Eva), Joe (late Annette) and Phil (late Georgette) as well as 4 sisters: Ida Lavigne (late Wilfred), Ella Brady (late Arthur),
Isabel Courcy and Rose Salter (late Willy).
Above all, Violet was a woman of deep faith.
She faced life’s challenges with courage, determination and a genuine desire to help others.
Her many talents were displayed in her work, her crafts and the countless acts of kindness that she shared with others.
If raising a large family was not challenge enough, Vi managed to work in many different places while keeping her home fires burning and her family cared for.
Retirement to her was spending even more time with family and helping out when and where needed.
Never one to say no, she could always be counted on to help out in a pinch.
She will be missed in so many ways by so many people.
Final arrangements for Vi have been entrusted to the care of the
Pilon Family Funeral Home in Arnprior
where visitation will be held on Thursday, October 16th from 9 to 10:45 a.m.
A Service will then take place in the Pilon Family Chapel at 11 o’clock followed by interment at the Malloch Road Cemetery. The service will be webcast live for those unable to attend. (Click Here)
