Obituary of Andrew Stevenson
In Loving Memory of
Mr. Andrew James “Sunny” Stevenson
1986 – 2025
With broken hearts, the family regretfully announce that Andrew sadly passed away, early Saturday morning, October 4, 2025 long before his time.
Beloved partner, and best friend of Jessica Waterston with whom he happily intended to spend the rest of his life with.
Much loved son of Lisa Stevenson (nee Funk) and Jim Stevenson (Sharon).
Cherished brother of Luke and Scott (Alyssa). Loved grandson of Rolf Funk (Carrie), the late Nora Funk, the late Elmor and Roberta “Bobbie” Stevenson.
Special nephew of Sh’Anne Simpson (Wayne), Kathy Lyons (Murray), Carl Funk and the late Bert Funk.
Lovingly remembered by Jessica’s grandmother, Helene Eggerstedt (late Fred); her parents: Stephen Waterston and Sheri Vanderlinden (John) and her siblings: Lindsay Waterston (Crystal) and Emily Malloch (Robbie).
Sunny is also survived by cousins: Jessica Kroeker (Brandon), Christina Funk, Jenny Taylor (Brock) and Joey Funk (Laura).
Hockey was his heartbeat, and painting was his passion, alongside his love of movies and pizza of course.
Andrew, or as so many affectionately called him, Sunny, lived his 39 years with laughter, strength,
and an unmistakable dimpled smile that had the power to light up a room.
He grew up on a dairy farm in Kinburn where his work ethic and strength were shaped early, tossing hay bales like pillows,
and later in life, making his bed as if those pillows were still hay bales.
On and off the ice he was a true teammate, always lifting others up whether it was with his words, his laughter, or his legendary bear hugs.
A man of faith and humility, Andrew carried himself with old-fashioned kindness, always holding the door and always ready with a grin.
He had a heart for the Lord and a gift for bringing sunshine into every life he touched.
People called him Thor or said he looked like Jason Momoa, and it wasn’t just the hair or the size.
It was the strength of his spirit and the warmth of his presence.
Though his life was short, his legacy will last forever through his love, his laughter, and his life. We will see him again one day "DontchaKnoooooo" but we’ll just have to wait.....until heaven comes around... "Majen?"
Andrew will be greatly missed by his family, his many wonderful friends and all whose lives he has touched.
Andrew’s final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the
Pilon Family Funeral Home in Arnprior
