Obituary of Susan Miller (nee Dazé)
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Susan Miller (nee Dazé) in her 78th year, a beloved and devoted wife to Ellard Miller for 56 years. Cherished Mother to Tammie (Elroy), Tara (Ian) and Tracey (Greg). As their Nana, she gave unconditional love to her grandchildren: Tessa (Andrew), Jaret, Cole (Ida), Sheyann, Colin, Jaycie and Emma and special nana to Josh, Liana, Finley and Mac and her great grandchildren Millie and Cecelia. She was an aunt, a Great Aunt and a Great Great Aunt who loved all her many nieces and nephews.
Born on Jan 4, 1948 in Arnprior, Ontario, Susan was the daughter of the late Anthony “Tony” and Isabel Daze. She is survived by her siblings Jane and Peter (Debbie). She will be reunited with her late siblings, Robert (Mary), Ann (late Bob), Bill (Linda), Marlyn (late Ray) and Buddy (Bette). Also survived by her sisters in law: Brenda (Les), Marva (Dennis), Cobie (late Garry) and Cindy. Predeceased by brother in law Esdale.
Susan was known for opening her heart and home to children for 40 years as a Foster Mom in Ladysmith, Quebec. This was her passion. She has touched the lives of so many. Words can’t express her selflessness and love that will forever have an impact on countless children and the difference she has made in their lives.
When at her home in Ladysmith, Susan loved it when her friends would come for cards, go camping or fishing or just chat and catch up. The door was always open and the coffee was always on.
A second Mom to many, a taxi, an ear to listen, and never judged and always willing to help. Susan was always anxious to return to her trailer in Cobden, Ontario to spend the summer there with her extended camping family.
As many know, Christmas was her favorite time of year, where her family gathered and the joy it brought her that everyone was under one roof. Family was everything to her. Boxing day was a special day for her as she was able to extend the celebration with multiple family and friends over the years.
