Obituary of Jean-Pierre Moisan

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jean-Pierre on October 18, 2025. He was 75 years of age.

 

Proud and loving dad of Eric (Dominique Chalifoux) and Daniel (Shannon Flynn), and step-dad to William Lamoureux (Pascale Reiher) and grandfather of Naomie and Émilie.

Beloved son of the late Ernest Moisan and the late Mariette Moisan (nee Rochon). Dear brother of Nicole, Madeleine (Joe Lemay), Nathalie (Tim Harris), Jacqueline and the late Mona Lyne, and many nephews.

Fondly remembered by his countless friends.

If there is one thing that defined JP throughout his life, it was his desire to do the best that he could in everything he was involved in including his work as an economist, cycling, triathlons, Big Band Caravane, his work at BDT and as an impresario to many artists. He lived by simple principles: Do what you love, do it well, work hard, keep calm, take risks, be patient. These weren't just words to him; they were his way of life.

He knew how to listen. He knew how to bring people together. And he had that rare gift of calming those around him, even without speaking.

 

We could always count on him.

 

We are proud to have known him. Proud of the man he was.

C'est avec une grande tristesse que nous annonçons le décès de Jean-Pierre, survenu le 18 octobre 2025. Il était âgé de 75 ans.

 

Fier et aimant père d'Éric (Dominique Chalifoux) et Daniel (Shannon Flynn), et beau-père de William Lamoureux (Pascale Reiher) et grand-père de Naomie et Émilie.

 

Fils bien-aimé de feu Ernest Moisan et de feu Mariette Moisan (née Rochon). Cher frère de Nicole, Madeleine (Joe Lemay), Nathalie (Tim Harris), Jacqueline et de feu Mona Lyne, et de nombreux neveux.

 

Il laisse dans le deuil ses innombrables amis.

 

S'il y a une chose qui a défini JP tout au long de sa vie, c'est son désir de faire de son mieux dans tout ce qu'il entreprenait, que ce soit son travail d'économiste, le cyclisme, le triathlon, le Big Band Caravane, son travail chez BDT ou son rôle d'imprésario auprès de nombreux artistes. Il vivait selon des principes simples : fais ce que tu aimes, fais-le bien, travaille fort, reste calme, prends des risques, sois patient. Pour lui, ce n'étaient pas que des mots, c'était son mode de vie.

 

Il savait écouter. Il savait rassembler les gens. Et il avait ce don rare d'apaiser ceux qui l'entouraient, même sans parler.

 

Nous pouvions toujours compter sur lui.

 

Nous sommes fiers de l'avoir connu. Fiers de l'homme qu'il était.
