Obituary of Glenda Russett

Glenda Russett

(nee Hobbs)

(Retired Teacher – McNab Public School)

Glenda passed away peacefully in the comfort of her own home while surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday evening, November 11, 2025 after a most courageous battle with cancer. Glenda Rita Russett of McNab/Braeside was only 60 years of age. Beloved wife and best friend of Scott. Dearly loved Mom of Jarvis Russett (Kelly), Janessa Thurler (Marc) and Janelle Russett (Austin Tryon). Cherished and proud Grandma of Billy Thurler. Dear sister of Laurie Hobbs (Pat) and Bentley Hobbs (Debbie). Special sister-in-law of Tim Russett (Nicola) and Lynn Russett. Also survived and fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, former students, colleagues and so many wonderful friends.

For 34 years, Glenda dedicated her heart and life to the students of McNab Public School, where she inspired generations with her lighthearted, witty personality, kindness and unwavering belief in the potential of every child.

Beyond her teaching career, Glenda cherished nothing more than time spent with her family. Whether gathered around the dinner table, sharing laughs around a bonfire, or celebrating life’s milestones, she found her greatest joy in those she loved most.

A devoted follower of Christ, Glenda lived her life rooted in faith and guided by God’s love. She found strength and peace in prayer. Her life was a testament to her belief in God’s promises, and she found comfort in knowing that her journey continues in His eternal care. Those who knew her will remember her unwavering faith, her kindness, and the light of Christ that shone through her.

Family and friends are invited to join the family during visitation at the Pilon Family Funeral Home in Arnprior on Friday evening, November 14th from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday morning, November 15th from 9:45 to 10:45. A Service to honour and remember Glenda will take place in the Pilon Family Chapel on Saturday morning at 11 o’clock. A reception will follow. Interment Castleford Union Cemetery. Colourful or McNab school attire is welcome in her honour.

The service will be webcast live for those unable to attend. (Click Here)
