Marcelle Coulas

August 10, 1929 – November 28, 2025

Marcelle Coulas passed peacefully at the age of 96 on November 28, 2025. She is survived by Leo, her devoted husband of 68 years and her four children Audrey (Ray Kostuch), Brian (Karen), Diane and Maureen (Grant Smith). Dear Nana and Grandma to seven grandchildren: Matthew (Karen), Peter, Katherine, Patrick, David, Michael and Richard.

Predeceased by her parents Adrian and Delia Charlebois and her two brothers Gerald and Andre (Huguette) and her three sisters Yvette (Claude Gagnier), Jeanette (Jimmy Graham) and Pauline.

Born on the family farm in Alexandria Ont. On August 10, 1929, she was the eldest of six children. She spent her youth in Alexandria, eventually working at Stedman’s where she met the love of her life, Leo, when he was transferred there in 1953. After a four year courtship they married in October 1957 and moved to Montreal and started a family.

Marcelle was a strong, independent woman, which served her well as her children were growing up while Leo travelled frequently for his job at the Royal Bank.

She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, and travelling. She was also a skilled and meticulous knitter, who created Christmas crafts, afghans and beautiful sweaters for her children and grandchildren.

Recently, Marcelle was lovingly cared for by staff at the Courtyards on Eagleson memory care home in Kanata. The family thanks all the exceptional staff for their care.

Visitation will be held at Kelly Funeral Home, 580 Eagleson Rd, Kanata on Friday, December 5, 2025 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, December 6, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Spirit Parish, 1489 Shea Rd, Stittsville with internment next June in Barry’s Bay, Ont.

As expressions of sympathy, donations to Holy Spirit Parish, Stittsville or Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County will be gratefully acknowledged by the family.

Final arrangements for Marcelle have been entrusted to the care of the Pilon Family Funeral Home in Arnprior.
