James Patrick “Jim” McGonigal

Peacefully at The Grove Long Term Care Facility in Arnprior on Sunday morning, December 28, 2025, Jim passed away at the age of 97. Jim was predeceased by his beloved wife Pansy (nee Booth, 2022) as well as his only son, Greg (2025), and his former daughter-in-law, Jean Udall. Jim is survived by his former daughter-in-law, Peggy (nee Casley). The last surviving child of the late William and Nellie (nee Cunningham) McGonigal, Jim was also predeceased by his 4 brothers: John (late Mary-Kay), Francis “Wee”, Stewart and Arthur McGonigal as well as his only sister, Noreen Newton (late Don). He will be lovingly remembered by his many nieces and nephews, and was a beloved grandfather to Liz Udall, Bella Udall, Patti Trotter (Brandon) and Bonnie McGonigal, and great grandfather to Edward James Udall, Tony Udall, Edward Trotter, and James Trotter.

Final arrangements for Jim have been entrusted to the care of the Pilon Family Funeral Home in Arnprior. A graveside service will be held at the Malloch Road Cemetery in Arnprior in the Spring of 2026.
