Obituary of Doug Algier

Douglas George “Doug” Algier

(Retired Government of Canada)

With heavy hearts, the family announces that Doug passed away peacefully at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital in the early morning hours of Thursday, January 1, 2026.

He was 81 years of age.

Beloved husband and best friend of Judy (nee Carter).

Much loved and proud Dad of Chris Algier (Tara) and Kelly-Lynn Bohnhorst (Henning).

Cherished Grandpa of Ellie, Grace, Viktor, Emma and Maya. Doug is also survived by his twin brother, Donald (Doris).

Fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews.

Son of the late George and Bernice (nee Sanborn) Algier,

Doug was also predeceased by his 2 sisters: Geraldine Bray (late Alan) and Marjorie Richmond (late Donald).

Doug’s final care and arrangements have been entrusted to the

Pilon Family Funeral Home in Arnprior

where visitation will take place on Monday morning, January 5^th from 9:30 to 10:45.

A service to honour and celebrate Doug’s life will be held in the Pilon Family Chapel at 11 o’clock.
