Obituary of Frank Burnette

Frank Burnette

(Retired Sandvik Steel, Arnprior after 42 years)

With broken hearts, the family announces that Frank passed away peacefully at the Queensway-Carleton Hospital

after a brief illness and while surrounded by loved ones on Friday evening, January 9, 2026.

Francis Herbert Burnette of Arnprior (Sandy Hook) was 68 years of age.

Beloved husband of 46 years and best friend of Linda (nee McKeddie).

Proud father of Shane (Laura) and Mandy (Chris Lefebvre) and much loved “Grumps” of Noah, Lily and Dylan.

He will be missed by his faithful companion, Yogi.

Dear brother of Richard “Dick” Burnette (Mary) and Linda Hurrle.

Predeceased by a brother, Donnie (Mavis Herbert).

Special brother-in-law of Russ McKeddie (Debbie), Randy McKeddie (late Karen), Lori Dontigny (Rob) and the late Donny McKeddie.

Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends.

Son of the late Clifford and Mary (nee McManus) Burnette and son in law of the late Don and Lois (nee L’abbé) McKeddie

Frank was always a family man.

From an early age, he was a huge fan of Chevrolet Camaros and the Toronto Maple Leafs.

He also had a genuine respect for animals.

His love of the outdoors was evident in the time he spent fishing, being on the water or just taking long daily walks and drives with his dog, Yogi.

After 42 years, his career at Sandvik Steel ended when the lights were turned off one final time on the very last day of its operation in Arnprior in December, 2019.

Frank’s final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the

Pilon Family Funeral Home in Arnprior

where friends may pay their respects on Friday evening, January 16th from 5 to 6:45 p.m.

A Service to honour and remember Frank will take place in the Pilon Family Chapel on Friday evening at 7 o’clock.

The service will be webcast live for those unable to attend.   Click Here
