John Risk
With sadness, the family announces that John passed away peacefully at the Almonte General Hospital early Monday morning, January 12, 2026 following a brief illness.
John Albert “Jack” “Gaffer” Risk, a longtime resident of Blakeney was 97 years of age.
Beloved husband of the late Ruth (nee Tucker) who predeceased him January 7, 1997.
Much loved father of Barry Risk (late Ingrid) and Vivian Findley (Keith) and proud Gaffer of Derek Risk (Sarah), Trevor Risk, Brittany Risk, Adam Findley (Danielle Gauthier) and Alyssa Findley
and Great-Grandfather of Johnathan and Jacob.
Also survived by his nieces and nephews as well as some wonderful friends, including longtime dear friend Bill Morgan.
Son of the late Albert and Hilda (nee Blackler) Risk, John was also predeceased by his only sibling, Grace “Trixie” Stoppard (late Alf).

John, born in Bristol England, proud Canadian Citizen was renowned for his pride of having worked consistently for 55 years.
First as an electrician with the RAF and BOAC then moving to Canada where he started with a friend a company called Rivington Electrics,
then moving to E.B. Eddy’s where he got promoted to Superintendent fine grade papers.
Head hunted by Wyant Corp., eventually becoming the Vice President of manufacturing PHA Industries,
and finally finishing his career as Corporate Vice President Woods Wyant.
Family and friends are invited to a gathering to remember John during visitation at the
Pilon Family Funeral Home in Arnprior
on Saturday, January 31st from 10 a.m. to 12 noon.
A Reception will then follow in the Pilon Family Reception Centre.
Spring Interment Auld Kirk Cemetery, Almonte.
