Obituary of Patricia Ellis

Patricia “Patsy” Ellis

(also known as Pat)

Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and cherished family member, passed away peacefully in hospital on Sunday, January 18, in her 77th year.

Pat, originally from Cobden, Ontario, was predeceased by her parents, May Delorme and Gerald Burns.

Known affectionately as Patsy or Pat, she was a woman of resilience, great imagination, and deep love for her family.

Patricia was first married to Jim Bennett. Together they welcomed an infant daughter, Lou Anne, who passed away in infancy and was always lovingly remembered.

Jim and Pat were later blessed with two daughters, Cindy Sue (Richard) Potter and Wanda (Shawn) Herrick, who were the pride and joy of Patricia’s life.

Pat later moved to Arnprior, and then to Lochwinnoch, where she married Wayne Ellis, who predeceased her.

After Wayne’s passing, Patricia found love again with her soulmate, Mike Cece.

Together they shared a happy life in Smiths Falls, and later Jasper, Ontario. Mike also predeceased her.

Patricia’s grandchildren were her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

She will be lovingly remembered by Cassidy (Nick) Potter, Rebecca Potter, and Kendra Potter, and Andrew (Natalie) Herrick and Austin Herrick.

Patricia is also survived by her brother, Garry (Donna) Burns, and her niece and nephew, April and Adam Burns, along with extended family and friends who will miss her dearly.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Bonnie, Pat’s devoted PSW and dear friend, whose kindness and dedication allowed Pat to remain at home for so many years. The family would also like to thank the wonderful staff at Almonte Country Haven for the exceptional care, warmth, and support they provided, helping to make the last year of Patricia’s life such a happy and comfortable one.

Sincere thanks are also extended to the caring staff at the Almonte General Hospital and the Montfort Hospital ICU for their professionalism, empathy, and attentive care.

A private family graveside service and interment will be held at St. Mark’s Cemetery, Pakenham later in the Spring.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Almonte General Hospital in Patricia’s memory.

Pat will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her love, creativity, and the devotion she gave so freely to her family.

In the professional care of the

Pilon Family Funeral Home in Arnprior.
