Friends are invited to join the family at a graveside service to be held at the Huntley United Cemetery, 2605 Carp Road, Ottawa
on Friday, June 26th at 12:30 p.m. followed by a celebration of Shirley life at the Carp Agricultural Hall from 1:15 to 4 p.m
Shirley Grant
Shirley Emma Grant (Deevy) from Carp, Ontario passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on January 22 , 2026.
Born in 1933, she was the beloved wife of James Grant.
Together they lovingly raised three children: Bonnie Todd (Patrick), Wendy Cox (Bill) and Murray Grant (Jason).
She was a devoted grandmother to Ryan Lethbridge (Gaby), Tyler Lethbridge (Dehlana), Blair Cox (Julia), Colin Cox, and Kessia VanNest (Mike).
She also enjoyed having 8 great grandchildren: Anthony, Zoey, Lydia, Charlie, Connor, Brooklynn, Bailey and Shayla.
Shirley grew up on a farm in Stittsville, Ontario to parents Mary and William Deevy.
She is survived by her sister, Ethel Monahan (Johnny .D) and preceded in death by her brother, Russell Deevy (Margaret) and her sister, Elva Greene (George).
She is survived by her sister In-law, Barbera Twyman (Brian).
Shirley started her career at the National Defence Research Center at Shirley's Bay.
After the children were born, she spent some time raising her family and then went on to work at Atomic Energy of Canada.
She also worked on their dairy farm. Throughout the years, she was a long time volunteer of the Carp Fair and became Head Lady in 1983.
When Shirley retired, she volunteered a great deal of her time to the Opportunity Shop in Arnprior.
Shirley dearly loved her family.
She loved playing euchre and enjoyed traveling to fiddle parks in the RV with James.
She will be deeply missed by all. We love you Shirley, Mom, Grandma and Great Grandma.
