Obituary of Ali Ball
Alison Ball
We are sad to announce the passing of Alison Lindsay Ball (nee Kerr) on Monday February, 9th at the age of 76.
She is survived by sister in law Julie Campbell (Craig); brothers-in-law: Rick (Linda), Ron (Cathy), along with seven nieces and nephews; Skye, Meaghan, Jesse, Devon, Jenny, Chris, and Tess.
Predeceased by her husband Bob Ball and parents James and Marie Kerr.
Alison was born in Abington, UK and brought up as a service brat, living in different countries,
spending a large part of her childhood in Singapore and later working for the Canadian Hydrographic Service where she met her husband, Bob.
Alison and Bob purchased a sailboat in 1978 and lived on it for the next 14 years alternating between cruising in the Bahamas
and working as hydrographers on the Mississippi River and in the Gulf of Mexico.
In later years they moved ashore and spent their summers in Canada and winters in Little Harbour, Abaco.,
a solar powered community in the Bahamas where they developed close friends.
She hated the cold, and loved going south each winter and will be terribly missed by all her friends both there and in the Bob’s Lake/Perth area.
Ali was an avid spelunker, bird watcher, and all-round animal lover.
She was a very independent soul right up to the end, keeping her sense of humour.
She will be missed.
To make a donation in memory of Ali, please adopt a wild animal in her name from the Canadian Wildlife Fund at wwf.ca
In the care of the Pilon Family Funeral Home in Arnprior.
