Obituary of Wally Fraser
Alexander Walter “Wally” Fraser
Retired RCASC
September 13, 1942 – February 1, 2026
It is with profound sorrow that Wally’s family announces his passing on Sunday February 1, 2026 in his 84th year.
He passed peacefully at the University of Alberta Hospital in Edmonton with loved ones by his side.
Wally leaves behind his loving wife Marsha Lynn (Hoad) and his youngest son Blaine.
He was predeceased by his eldest son Kenneth in 2016.
He will be fondly remembered by his two granddaughters, Meagan and Sara and seven great grandchildren.
Countless cousins, nieces, nephews and friends will long affectionately remember him.
Wally's military career took him to Cold Lake Alberta in 1974 which is where he and Marsha decided to settle down and raise their boys.
Although he loved his community where Marsha and him called home and had a great network of friends and family,
he always longed to someday come back to their first home in the Ottawa Valley.
He was one of five children of the late Alex and Muriel (nee Brydges) Fraser of Springtown, Ontario.
Predeceased by his two brothers James (1959) and Sandy (2012) and survived by two sisters: Durrell Stubinsky and Bobbie Thompson (David) and sister-in-law, Sandy’s wife Bonnie (nee Dodd).
Wally will be coming back to his first home in the Ottawa Valley this spring where he will be committed to the Fraser Family private cemetery located on the Fraser Road in Bagot Township, Renfrew County, Ontario.
At ease.
