Obituary of Anne Camp
(nee Carey)
Anne Marie Camp was born and raised in Bras d’Or, Nova Scotia. She studied nursing in Halifax and nursed there before transferring to the Ottawa area. She attended the University of Ottawa, furthering her studies in nursing before teaching at the Ottawa Civic Hospital School of Nursing. She later transferred to administration at the Ottawa Civic Hospital where she became the Director of Outpatient and Specialty Services until her retirement in 1993.
Anne met and married the love of her life, John Camp (North Sydney, NS) with whom she shared a fairytale romance until his passing in 2025. They raised and are survived by their two sons, Shawn (Kara) of Guelph, ON and Sheldon (Patty) of Halifax, NS, and grandchildren Jaxon, Keegan, Logan and Jordan.
Anne is survived by her brother Kevin Carey (North Sydney, NS) and sister Faith Lantz (Sydney, NS), and predeceased by sister Kathleen Carey and John Carey of Bras d’Or, NS.
Anne’s sharp wit and generous warmth will be missed by all.
Her private arrangements have been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home, Arnprior.
Anne and John have been reunited and their urn will be interred at St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Bras d’Or later in the Spring.
