Aunt Betty and family. Our sincere condolences on the loss of Uncle Bill. We have many many fond memories of Uncle Bill. I remember when dating Peter visiting you both at Sportland on a Friday night to talk snowmobiles and racing and any visits on a Sunday afternoon usually included watching the races. Any hobby Uncle Bill started he was all in with it - Tyler will forever remember his go kart trailer that you both redesigned for him! And Rachel has her hope chest to cherish forever - he had a heart of gold. We enjoyed watching his love of restoring old cutters and sleighs grow into a collection second to none! I'm sure he is up in heaven enjoying the odd poker game and am certain he will have the best hand!!

Dear Betty, Shawn, Jodi, Robbi & Family,
My sincere condolences on the loss of Bill. May your fond memories bring you comfort as you share photographs and stories from the past.
I was blessed to be a small part of Bill's many Businesses. As stated, he was a great entrepreneur and business owner and Boss.
My first real full time job was at Arnprior Sportland, but it was more than just Sportland. Arnprior Sportland, Arnprior Mini Storage, Bender Racing, Bill's Fishing Charters, Bill's Used Parts and more. Multi tasking was just one of the many skills I learned working for Bill and Betty. Customer Service was another, as all the phone lines lit up and customers came in to talk to Bill about his different businesses. Bill and Betty gave young employees great opportunities to learn new skills, and to gain valuable experience that we have all carried with us to other jobs we have worked at. We all gained so much working at Sportland. We had lots of fun and laughs, while getting the job done. Bill was a great Leader to motivate us to do our best work, and to instill confidence that we could do it.
As I see Retro Sleds getting more popular, and Bender Racing posts on social media, I think to myself how fortunate we all were to live through that time period and experience all that we did. We also had a great connection to amazing people in Greenland that I will never forget.
Bill met many different people in all the different businesses he started, and all of us will miss him. RIP Bill
Jacqueline

I was sad to hear of Bill’s passing. I have many found memories of Bill working with Noel & Dad at CPM & on stock cars in dad’s garage at the house in Campbell’s Bay. Cheering him on during races in Stittsville & Oswego, being allowed in the pit and awaken at 1:30 in the morning to a roaring engine for repairs. My deepest condolences to Betty, Shawn, Jodi, Robbi & their families. May Bill rest in peace.

Dear Devlin family,
My deepest condolences on your loss.
I am very sorry for passing of Mr. Devlin.
I remember the Thanksgiving and Christmas I spent with the Devlin family so many years ago. Everything was my first time, a huge turkey dinner, and I never seen the big Xmas tree with SO many presents underneath! The house was beautifully decorated. Repeating”wow” so many times in my mind. Mr. Devlin welcomed me (a Japanese girl from nowhere) warmly, and let me be a part of his family. Thank you! ♥️
Rest in peace, Mr. Devlin. Masaki S.

Betty, Shawn, Jodi, Robbi and families. How saddened we were to hear of Bill's passing. So many memories came flooding back, the business together, all Noel and His adventures and the friendship shared. He had so many talents and always willing to take that extra risk. So proud of his family. Dementia is such an awful disease as it not only robs them of their memories but the family as well. All the happy memories and stories and accolades you will hear about him will sustain you all in the dark days ahead. God speed William and rest in peace you certainly deserve it. I carry a lot of gratitude when I think about the years we worked together. Bill wasn't just a boss — he was a mentor who shaped the way I work, lead, and carry myself. He saw potential in me long before I saw it in myself, and he pushed me in all the right ways. The lessons he taught me — about integrity, patience, and doing things the right way — have stayed with me far beyond the time I spend at Sportland. My career, my confidence, and the opportunities I’ve had since are all tied to the influence Bill had on me. I’m proud of the work we did together, not only with Bill but with Betty also, I even more grateful for the person they helped me become.
" The Big Guy" will be greatly missed.
So sorry for your loss.

My pa-in-law was generous and supportive of me throughout the decades, despite my leftist philosophy.
Vascular dementia stole him from living life as he always had: with vigour, humour, creativity and thoughtfulness. Sad but fortunate, the disease took him quickly and he died in his sleep.
I helped Bill in his garden, he shared his passion for NASCAR with me, he lent me tools and I forgot to return several of them, he appointed me toast-maker for Christmas morning breakfasts and I deigned to take the dark meat when he was used to eating it all. The most wondrous thing we shared was love for his son.
I'm lucky to have had Bill as my father-in-law and look forward to many years with Betty as my ma-in-law.
