Obituary of Leigh Ann Kyte
Leigh Ann Kyte (nee Sawyer)
With broken hearts, the family announces that Leigh Ann passed away at Hospice Renfrew while surrounded by the love of family and friends on Thursday morning, March 12, 2026.
Leigh Ann Marie Kyte of Fitzroy Harbour was only 54 years of age.
Beloved wife and best friend of Jeff. Adored Mom of Ryan (Sydney Barr) and Emily Kyte. Cherished daughter of Peter and Linda (nee Wilson) Sawyer and dearest sister of Joey Sawyer (Shelley Eckford) and specially devoted Aunt of Heidi Eckford. Leigh Ann was the treasured granddaughter of the late Thomas and Juliette Wilson and the late Tom and Leona Sawyer. Leigh Ann is further survived by her mother-in-law, Johann Kyte (late Joseph); her sister-in-law Cheryl Kyte, as well as many wonderful cousins, aunts, uncles, friends and neighbours.
Leigh Ann was a proud member of her community in Fitzroy Harbour and was an integral part of many events held at the Fitzroy Harbour Community Centre. Not only did Leigh Ann help organize events, she also played on and coached many softball teams, helping countless young members of the community learn to appreciate the game. Leigh Ann was a beautiful light to whomever she met and never forgot a face or a name. She was extremely thoughtful and kind, always placing the needs of her loved ones and friends ahead of her own. Whether it be when she was young, on adventures with her cousins on “the hill” or later in life, with friends, Leigh Ann continually prioritized her relationships with both her family and friends. She was also forever grateful for the love and support from her best girlfriends. Leigh Ann is also dearly missed by her puppies Charley and Stanley.
Special thanks to Dr. Sharon McGee and the rest of the oncology team at the Queensway Carleton Hospital for always taking such exceptional care of Leigh Ann.
