Obituary of Dub Juby

Delbert (Dub) Juby

The Valley Carver

 

Born May 21, 1933

Passed March 24, 2026

 

Delbert passed away in his own bed in his own home just before midnight on Monday while being cared for by his wife Bev. 

He has spent the afternoon in great spirits, sitting in the sun on the veranda with his daughter Linda and looking forward to his upcoming visit with his daughter Tara.

 

Delbert will be greatly missed by his wife Beverley Cleary; daughter Linda and her husband Dennis Ladouceur and his daughter Tara and her husband David Gurr.  

 

Delbert had 7 grandchildren who all thought the world of him:  Nathan, Maggie and Michael Juby, Lauren Washington (Kyle), Shauna Ladouceur, Alanna Gurr (Jarrett Woof) and Erin Gurr.

 

He also has 5 great grandchildren: Cohen Curtis, Nelson and Jordana Washington, August and Gracie Woof and a step-grandchild Christoper Nagle.

 

He also has 2 daughters-in-law: Cathy Blay and Diane Juby.

 

He was predeceased by his son Dale Juby; his wife Frankie Toporowski; his brother Glen Juby and his parents Percy and Annie Juby.

 

Delbert will also be missed by his first wife, Joan Juby; his sister-in-law Alice Juby; his nephew David Juby; his niece Karen Desjardins and her sons Matthew and Cameron Desjardins.

 

Dub was also a second father figure to Keith Cunningham and Todd Desjardins. He also had a special bond with John and Cathy Brady.

 

He had a multitude of friends in the Biker Bunch, (NOB’s). His favorite times with them were going to Lake George, Ladysmith and the Prior. 

The Classic Car Club where his favorite was definitely the Father’s day car show at White Pine Bay. He also loved the Almonte and Carleton Place shows. 

 

His Friday night Happy Hour friends brought him many happy hours. He will also be missed by his friends who he met at Mama Rosa’s for over 2 decades.

 

Dub’s final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the

Pilon Family Funeral Home in Arnprior

where visitation will take place on Friday evening, March 27th from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Saturday morning, March 28th from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.

 

A Service to honour and remember Delbert will be held in the Pilon Family Chapel on Saturday morning at 11 o’clock.

A reception will follow.

A procession to Dub’s final resting place, the Castleford Cemetery will be organized and take place complete with motorcycle buddies and classic car enthusiasts alike later in the Spring.
