With heavy hearts, the family announces that Gary passed away unexpectedly at the Ottawa Civic Hospital while surrounded by loved ones on Monday morning, March 23, 2026.

Gary Stephen Egan of Ottawa was 69 years of age.

Beloved and proud Dad of Ryan (Tina Larochelle), Pierce Egan (Mallory Oettinger) and Reece (Kristine Puey) and StepDad of Nicolas Scharf.

Cherished Grampa Gary of Remi.

Dear brother of Jeffrey (Diane), Lynne Egan (Rick Primett), Kelly Egan (Paul Howard), Judy Rump (Roydon), Jayne Egan and Tracey Vadneau (Danny).

Predeceased by 2 brothers: Donny and Terry Egan.

Gary will be dearly missed by his longtime friend Joe Vorstandlechner.

Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Dear son of the late Donald and Helen (nee Holmes) Egan.

Gary’s final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the

Pilon Family Funeral Home in Arnprior.

Visitation will take place on Thursday morning, April 2^nd from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m.

A Service in Memory of Gary will be held in the Pilon Family Chapel on Thursday morning at 11 o’clock.

A reception will follow.

For those wishing to remember Gary, a donation to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute would be appreciated by his family.
