With heavy hearts, yet deep gratitude for such a long and well lived life,
the Roach family announces the peaceful passing of Jim on Sunday evening, April 12, 2026
at Groves Park Lodge in Renfrew, where Jim received such wonderful, compassionate care.
Surrounded by the love of his family and after a lengthy illness, James Coyne Roach of Arnprior was 95 years of age.
Jim is survived by the love of his life, his wife Alice (nee Vonsick) whom he married on June 6th. 1949. They were soon to celebrate their 77th wedding anniversary.
Dearly loved Dad of Beverly Pauling (Jeff) Karen Macleod (Late Eric), (Vincent), Tim Roach (Christine), Susan Roberts (Steve), Matthew Roach and Melanie Cummings.
Cherished and proud Grampa of Blaine(Julee) Tiffany, Kim (Chris) Matthew (Jess) Krista, Jennifer (Mike) Kelly (Bryan) Michelle,
Greg (Victoria) Jessamyn (Matt) Brandon and Amy and Great Grandpa, to Courtney, Trevor, Jacob, Shawn, Ryan, Eric, Maelie, Mila, Hannah, Alex and Isabelle, who fondly called him GG.
Jim was the last surviving child of the late Edward Thomas Roach and Mary Ellen Coyne.
He was also predeceased by his 4 brothers: Herbert, Alban (late Joan), Lacey (late Kay), Raymond (Dorothy)
as well as his 3 sisters: Carmel Pigeon (late Omer), Rita Lemenchick (late Leonard) and Olive Shannon (late Jack). Fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews.
Jim was very proud of his long career of 35 plus years at Bell Canada.
He enjoyed many happy years with family and friends at the Hunt Camp in Round Lake.
Jim and Alice spent 30 enjoyable years at their Winter home in Florida.
Jim’s absolute favourite place was at the Cottage on Jeffrey’s Lake.
He would enjoy sitting outside the garage, legs crossed, enjoying his favourite country music.
Jim absolutely cherished his wife and family and was very proud of all of them.
Jim’s final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the
Pilon Family Funeral Home in Arnprior.
Family and friends are invited to a Funeral Mass to be celebrated in Our lady of Perpetual Help Church, Braeside
on Thursday morning, April 23rd at 11 o’clock.
A reception will be held in the Parish Hall following a private interment at the Malloch Road Cemetery, Arnprior.
