Obituary of Stefan Geisser
(Civil Engineering Graduate)
With broken and shattered hearts, the Geisser family announce that Stefan passed away as the result of a tragic motor vehicle accident in the evening of Wednesday, May 13, 2026.
Stefan was 27.
Loved and cherished son of Walter and Elvira (née Bertsch) Geisser, Stefan will be deeply missed by his big brother, Cornel, and his younger sister, Sarina.
Born on October 20, 1998, in St. Gallen, Switzerland, Stefan immigrated to Canada with his family as a young toddler. He spent much of his childhood growing up at Bayview Lodge Campground on White Lake, where he became part of the Lindsay Lane and camping community that he considered an extension of his family.
Stefan was known for his quiet and gentle nature, both as a young boy and as he grew older. Though reserved, he had a sharp sense of humour, a kind heart, and an unforgettable wit that touched everyone who knew him. He formed deep and meaningful connections with family, friends, coworkers, and members of the community through his calm presence, intelligence, and loyalty.
Stefan had a deep love for the outdoors and felt most at peace on the water or surrounded by nature. He loved boating, fishing, and skiing, and spent countless hours working across the lake on the cottage he proudly built and affectionately called his “Hacienda.” It was one of his favourite places and a reflection of his hard work, creativity, and love for spending time outdoors.
Stefan was incredibly proud of becoming a Civil Engineer. After years of dedication and hard work, he graduated and received his engineering ring in March of 2026 - one of the proudest moments of his life. He wore his ring every day with pride, seeing it as a symbol of everything he had worked so hard to achieve and the bright future that lay ahead of him.
He will be fondly remembered by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends in the Orillia area, throughout Ontario, and in his birth home of Switzerland.
Though his life was far too short, the impact Stefan made in his 27 years will last forever. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him.
Stefan’s arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the Pilon Family Funeral Home, Arnprior.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday evening, June 9th form 5-6:45.
A Twilight Tribute to honour Stefan will follow in the Pilon Family Chapel at 7 o'clock.
