Obituary of Jacqueline "Jackie" Patterson

(nee Ryan)

With sadness the family announces that Jackie passed away suddenly, but peacefully in the comfort of her home at Island View Residence on Friday morning, June 5, 2026.

She was 88.

Predeceased by her husband and best friend, Bill in 2012.

Dearly loved Mom of Carla Patterson, Dennis Patterson (Cyndy Weeks-Patterson) and Liane Patterson (Mark Queen).

Cherished Grandma of Nick.

Jackie was predeceased by her brother Ted Ryan (late Evelyn) and her sister Mary Lee Wagner (late Desmond “Jimmy”).

Daughter of the late Dennis and Elsie (nee Ball) Ryan.

Jackie was born and raised in the Ottawa Valley, and had many stories about living in Pembroke and Deep River. She recently told family that Deep River was where her most cherished childhood memories were. She worked as a secretary at Pembroke Collegiate until she met and married Bill in 1962. The first 23 years of marriage saw them living in Royal Oak, Michigan. In 1985, they moved north to the Cobden area and then Pembroke. Jackie relocated to Arnprior in 2019.

Jackie had many interests, but is probably most remembered for her fascination with family history. She funneled her interest into her book “Pembroke: a glimpse of the past” published in 2008.

Jackie’s care and arrangements have been entrusted to the Pilon Family Funeral Home, Arnprior.

A private family graveside service will be held at St. Patrick’s Anglican Cemetery in Cobden.
