Obituary of Janice McLean

Janice Lynn McLean

(nee Raycroft)

With heavy hearts, the family announces that Janice passed away  rather suddenly at the Arnprior and District Memorial Hospital on Thursday evening, June 11, 2026;

Janice, a lifelong resident of Braeside was only 64 years of age.

Beloved daughter of the late Gordie and Bethel (nee Yourt) Raycroft.

Dearly loved sister of Randy and Brent (Heather Leckie).

Janice was predeceased by her sister, Heather Raycroft and an infant sister, Joanne.

Forever best friend of Velda Mask and Daphne Brennan. Special Aunt Jan of Leslie, Krista, Taylor, Davis, Ashley Amy, Rebecca and Rachel.

Also survived and lovingly remembered by her many great-nieces and nephews.

Janice was a devoted and well-loved daughter, sister, aunt and friend.

She excelled and worked hard in the hairdressing business for as long as she could.

During her years working alongside Gracie L’Abbé, Arlene Craig, Muguette McCuaig and Ghislaine Perneel at the Band Box on John Street in Arnprior,

Janice had the opportunity to get to know so many wonderful people who became more than just clients, they became longtime loyal friends.

Janice exuded a kindness and generosity far beyond family.

Her generosity was felt by family, friends and community.

She didn’t mind the odd game of Euchre either. In recent years, as her health began to fail she was forced to leave her work.

Her love of life and people will be long remembered by those who had the opportunity to call Janice friend.

The family extend heartfelt thanks and appreciation to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Arnprior Hospital for the excellent care they provided Janice over the years.

Special thanks to her St. Elizabeth PSW’s: Sylvie Fisher and Ashley Tremblay whose friendship brought great comfort to Janice these past weeks. 

Final arrangements have been entrusted to the care of the

Pilon Family Funeral Home in Arnprior

where visitation will be held on Wednesday morning, June 17^th from 10 am to 11:45 a.m.

A service to honour and remember Janice will follow in the Pilon Family Chapel at 12 noon.

Reception at Pilon’s.

 Interment will then take place at the Malloch Road Cemetery, Arnprior.

In memory of Janice, a donation to the Arnprior Regional Health Foundation or Lupus Canada would be greatly appreciated by the family.
