Dear Dixie, Lia-Rae, Dahlia, Auntie Lois and Uncle Rudy:
I just found out about Larisa’s passing; this is unbelievable. I am shocked and extremely saddened. I last saw her in the height of Covid - we had a really nice, albeit snowy, “outdoor visit” for her birthday. She hadn’t changed one bit…happy and oh, that raspy laugh; I’ll never forget it. With her kind heart she very rarely missed wishing me Happy Birthday as well, signing Love, Risa.
We were best buds as children and spent a lot of time together on the farm (I think that’s where my dislike of horses came from) - Lightning came by its name honestly (lol) and at Granny Edna’s house in the city. She’d tell you, being her little cousin, that I was sometimes a pest, particularly when I waited “patiently” for her to wake up so we could play!
Losing your mom and grandma is incredibly heartbreaking but I trust you have many wonderful memories of times spent together, full of love and laughter that will ease that sorrow with the dawning of each new day.
Auntie Lois and Uncle Rudy losing a child is an unimaginable grief that you should never have to bear. My heart breaks for all of you and I will be thinking of you all and praying God will fill each of you with His Love, Peace and Provision. “God draws near to the brokenhearted", a timeless promise of truth expressed in Psalm 34:18
