Obituary of Richard McCue

(retired – Nylene Canada)

On Friday morning, June 19, 2026, 5 days after his 78th birthday, Richard McCue quietly passed away surrounded by his devoted wife Mary, and daughters Amy and Erin.

Beloved husband and best friend of Mary-Ellen (nee Wilson).

Dearly loved Dad of Matthew Babineau, Erin McCue Houlahan (Jarrod Stackhouse), Amy McCue Houlahan, Angie Bonell (Jeff Gilmour), Brigètte Bonell and Christine LaRose (Ryan). 

Cherished and forever love Grandpa of Ryan, Kate, Knox, Axel, Jamie, Jack, Taylor, Charly, Brody and Jordan.

Dear brother of Don McCue (late Anna) and Fred McCue (late Ruth).

Predecaesed by a brother, Jimmy as well as 2 sisters: Claudette Loubert (Richard) and Diane Boudreau (late Clem).

Lovingly remembered by his many cousins, nieces, nephews and countless friends.

“Dickie” grew up and lived most of his life in Arnprior, but his sense of humour, friendly disposition - and especially his music - connected him to people far and wide.

He was a tremendous musician, avid fisherman, loving husband, and gentle father.

He loved Jesus and a home-cooked meal.

Salt of the Earth and all-around good lad, he will be profoundly missed by those who had the fortune of being his loved ones.

who provided Dick with an amazing level of care and compassion and allowed him to retain his dignity and humour until the very end.

Final care and arrangements have been entrusted to the

Pilon Family Funeral Home in Arnprior

where visitation will be held on Thursday evening, June 25^th from 6 to 8 p.m. and again on Friday, June 26^th from 12 p.m. until 1:45 p.m.

A Service to honour and celebrate Dick’s life will be held in the Pilon Family Chapel on Friday afternoon at 2 p.m.

Private family interment at a later date.

The poor and the hungry held a special place in Richard’s heart.

In lieu of flowers, non-perishable food items will be accepted at the visitation and donated to the Arnprior and District Food Bank in his name.
