Stephen was a consummate gentleman who was part of our informal gang, all connected in the world of technology. Stephen would attend the “Annual Gentlemen’s Christmas Shopping Event”, held at the Prescott Hotel, usually just days before Christmas, where the gang would share wrapping tips and other Christmas traditions &/or drink beer and eat pizza, hosted by the expansive Fagan family. More than a decade or so ago I had roped Stephen and the late Paul Minaker into a mission of mercy as we helped an Independent School wire for fiber optic cable as favour to a friend. This particular school was decades old and had many renovations performed on it, that made cabling a difficult task. So, there we were, the three stooges, Stephen in the attic with a drill and Paul and I rooting Stephen’s progress along. At one point we could hear the drill being driven but did not see the bit appearing thru the ceiling. “Stephen, do you see light?”, we asked. “No”, came the reply. “Do you see anything?” “Stars”, came the next reply. Then came the trademark laugh from Stephen. The gang is dwindling, but the times are well remembered fondly and so too the place that Stephen has in all our hearts.
