Obituary of Blair Hansen
After a brief illness Blair passed away suddenly but peacefully, on Wednesday June 17, 2026 at his home in Constance Bay. He was 71.
Beloved son of the late Del and Jean (nee Thompson) Hansen. Dear brother of Kirk Hansen (Mary-Anne Sillamaa). Predeceased by his brother Kent Hansen (Eleanor). Cherished Uncle Blair of Scott Hansen (Ayellet Ben Ner) and their twins: Andrew and Benji.
Blair was born January 21, 1955 in Ottawa. His family moved to Prince Albert, Saskatchewan in 1958, returning to Ottawa in 1963. After public and highschool, he studied topics related to mechanical and electrical engineering at Algonquin College. This prepared him for his career in engineering consulting and property development.
He lived and worked in Toronto for many years, returning to Ottawa in the early 2000s so that he could give direct attention to his aging mother. His parents died in 2006-7.
He bought his property in Constance Bay in 2002, and moved to it full-time in 2017. For the last few years of his life he wintered in Mexico, with a crowd from The Bay.
He was an enthusiastic guitarist, combining with a variety of groups to play at places in The Bay, around Ottawa, and in Mexico.
