Obituary of Dave Bingham

David Alan Bingham

22 Nov 1947 – 5 July 2026

It is with profound sadness, and with gratitude for a life well lived, that we announce the passing of David Alan Bingham on July 5, 2026, at the age of 78.

Born on November 22, 1947, in Toronto, David was the beloved husband of Diane (nee Presley); devoted dad to Karen Buynink (Bruce) and Kimberley Peagram (Geoff); adoring grandfather to Jonathan Reep; and cherished brother of Mary Tod (Ian) and Bruce Bingham (Mary). Lovingly remembered by the Presley family.

During his early years, David's family lived in both Toronto and Montreal. After earning a Bachelor's degree in History and Economics from Carleton University, he embarked on a two-decade career with the Ontario Government working in both the Ottawa and Niagara regions. Later in life, Dave enjoyed working in the Niagara wine industry.

David was deeply committed to his community. For many years, he served as a Scout leader and undertook a variety of stewardship roles within the Anglican Church. His lifelong passion for trains provided countless hours of enjoyment. He was an avid reader and researcher of railway history. He took great pleasure in building model railroads in the rec room, railfanning with his train club buddies, and sharing an annual rail trip with his grandson, Jonathan.

David's family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Arnprior District Memorial Hospital for the excellent care they provided. We are truly thankful for the compassion shown to David and to our family.

Family and friends will be received at Pilon Family Funeral Home, Arnprior, on Friday July 10, from 6-8 pm and on Saturday, July 11, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Family and friends are warmly invited to attend a funeral service on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Emmanuel Anglican Church, Arnprior.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or Emmanuel Anglican Church.

His family is grateful for the many years, memories, and friendships that enriched his life and theirs. He will be remembered with love and appreciation by all who knew him.
